Tattoo needle types at a glance:
Round Liner: Ideal for clear lines, outlines, ground plans, precise contours, and fine detail work.
Round Shader: Shaders are very similar to Round Liner needles, but there is one significant difference: Round Shader needles run straight and are further apart. This grouping creates a capillary effect to absorb a lot of ink—excellent for filling areas and shading.
Round Shaders are guided perpendicular to the skin and can be used with all colors, but are particularly suitable for traditional paste tattoo inks with coarse pigment.
Round Magnum modules have needles set back toward the outside, meaning that the needle tips are not aligned in a row as with a normal Magnum, but the front is slightly rounded. The curved shape of the Soft Edge Magnum prevents sharp edges when shading and is perfect for creating soft color transitions and gradients. They are also ideal for large-area tattoos.
